Cwmyoy WI will be holding their Annual General Meeting this month, to discuss the events of the last year and plans for the year to come.

Thanks to Zoom, meetings have been held through most of the lockdown period and most members have attended.

However we can’t wait to get back to meetings in the Hall and meeting up together again once more.

Annual meetings have a bad name! Everybody mysteriously finds that they have something else to do that night and numbers can be notoriously low.

However - not at Cwmyoy!

After the meeting, which will be kept at short as possible, we will be holding an interesting discussion on the meaning of Welsh place and field names, with our Welsh speaking member Helen Middleton.

Everyone is to be asked to have two names to suggest and we are sure that this will lead to much fascinating discussion, as well as solving many puzzling conundrums.

All’s well as long as I’m not expected to write this piece in Welsh next time!”
