The people of Crickhowell are coming together this weekend for a range of charity events to help raise money and show support to the people of Ukraine, starting with a Bingo Night tonight at Clarence Hall.

As a show of solidarity to Ukraine following Russia’s invasion, further events including a pub quiz at the Britannia Inn on Monday March 14 and a special display in the town centre on Saturday March 12 have been arranged to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine humanitarian appeal.

The Disasters Emergency Committee is an organisation that brings together 15 leading UK aid charities, raising funds to quickly and effectively respond to overseas disasters.

The monthly Bingo Night returns to Clarence Hall tonight (Thursday March 10) in aid of the Ukraine humanitarian appeal. The event begins at 7pm and tickets can be pre-booked by contacting Mike on 07590 391761.

On Saturday March 12 Crickhowell town centre will be a sea of blue and yellow, displaying Ukraine’s national colours in shop window displays and throughout the town centre.

Various shops in the town centre will selling a range of limited-edition charity items throughout the day and a live music recital will be held at Clarence Hall at 12:30pm with collections in aid of the appeal for Ukraine.

Crickhowell’s weekend of special charity events concludes with a pub quiz at the Britannia Inn on Monday March 14, with the quiz due to start at 7:30pm. People can book their team’s place via WhatsApp message on 07791 983155.

All proceeds from these events will go towards the DEC Ukraine humanitarian appeal.
