THIS week sees a group of keen cyclists from Crickhowell setting off on their marathon journey from Santander in northern Spain to start their road trip back to Scaer, and on to the ferryport at Roscoff - a trip of around 800 miles of, including a bit of the Pyrenees, in 12 days.

As promised the group will be updating their progress every day via our website and start here with:

DAY ONE TUESDAY 14/06/2016 - GET TO SANTANDER Led by Laurence.

Today the cyclists started their journey and travelled to Portsmouth. Vic (Jamesies’ mum) kindly gave us a lift and squashed us all into the VW bus with all our kit and bikes.

So a reminder of the team whom are taking on this 800 mile epic cycle ride. Which is in aid of Bobath, Cardiff. The team of six comprise of, Kate a local Vet from Glasfynydd owner of the Sennybridge Trading Company, supplying Equine and farming goods. Rosie a driving instructor from Llangorse, her husband Laurence a safety engineer/SPINNING instructor/Cycle Free Tour owner and tour planner of this tour. Ian is trying to retire but assists his wife with their small holding and display gardens at Nantybedd, Alan is an Agent for NFU Mutual in Abergavenny and Martin is an entertainments display manager from Bristol.

We departed on the Port Aven ferry to Santander at 18:00hrs and arrive Wednesday at 18.15 hrs, bon voyage. Whilst waiting to depart and when try to work out if the ferry had started sailing the remark was "if we HAVE started sailing, then that block of flats is coming with us" !! Old folk on tour!!
