A teenager from Pontypool has pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker last month.

Chase Rattan also admitted using threatening, abusive and insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence at Newport Magistrates Court on August 25 2026.

The 19-year-old will appear before the same court on October 19 and has been remanded on conditional bail to prevent any further offending. As part of the conditions, Mr Rattan must also stay away from a Tesco Express store and McDonald’s branch in Newport.

He must attend the next hearing in person.
