A prolific thief was jailed last week for burgling an Abergavenny hotel, and a town centre charity shop.

Andrew Viviash, 35, of Little Mill, landed himself a 40-week jail sentence after pleading guilty to charges of burglary, theft, attempted burglary, and for failing to surrender to police.

Viviash admitted burgling the Cancer Research shop in Abergavenny, and the town’s Angel Hotel where he stole £60.

Newport Magistrates heard on April 25 that Viviash admitted the offences which took place on July 10 last year, and February 22, 2019.

PC Adam Hollings said on the Abergavenny Officers Twitter feed, “Abergavenny man sentenced yesterday after being caught burgling a local hotel and a town centre charity shop. Sentenced to 40 weeks in prison. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 pounds!”
