A 17-year-old boy has been sentenced to a 12 month supervision order, and tagged for three months, after admitting to burgling an Abergavenny town centre shop.

The teen, who lives in the local area, pleaded guilty at Cwmbran Youth Court last week, following a break-in at Nicholls, in Frogmore Street, on Wednesday, 16th January 2019.

Sergeant Stephen James, of the Abergavenny Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, "This conviction is the result of extensive and ongoing enquiries into recent commercial burglaries in the North Monmouthshire area. We will continue to do everything in our power to bring offenders to justice."
