And with the rest of the line-up now confirmed, the array of acts and activities on offer at this year's festival, promise to make it a day like no other.
With a diverse and eclectic plate of entertainment and goodies to tempt all and sundry, it's difficult to know where to begin when listing the full box of delights that lie in wait at Bailey Park this May.
For a start there is the impressive number and quality of bands that will cater for fans of most musical genres, be it rock, pop, soul, jazz, ska, funk or male voice choirs.
Local band The Dolts will be wasting no time in kicking up a storm and getting the party started with a bang when they take to the stage at 10am.
Hot on their heels will be fellow local band Plan 504 to keep the momentum going until they pass the torch to well known local musicians The Undivided, who promise to unite the crowd with their own unique musical brew.
At 1.30pm, well-known soprano Katie Jayne and her baritone partner will be belting out some classical rock anthems followed an hour later by the Beaufort Male Voice Choir which will celebrate all that is Welsh about the Welsh Warrior.
Rob Leah promises to take the afternoon to another level completely with his distinctive sounds, before sensational songbird Claire Wilkin will enter the fray, putting her own special acoustic spin on well known favourites.
The well-loved and popular sounds of The Last Resort will carry the party from the afternoon into the evening.
And at 6pm X Factor star Katie Waissel will be looking to put the 'Wow' factor into proceedings when she makes her debut at the Welsh Warrior Festival.
Following Katie will be well known local performer Joe Tulloch and Flashlight and Futuretown will bring the noise to the gathered assembled as the party continues to rock into the evening and sets sail for the night.
Last year's favourites 2Rude will take you back to the late 70s with a tribute to the ska scene, before Fiery Jack round off the evening in spectacular style with his Covent Garden style routine that has to be seen to be believed.
Now while you catch your breath, there's time enough to tell you about the non-musical entertainment on offer, which includes a breathtaking Falconry display, an awesome show of agility and control from Police Dogs and their handlers and a dose of dance from the Gurkha junior children's dance group who will entertain with their traditional Nepalese dancing.
The Biker Urban Morris Dancers will be on hand to enthrall everyone with their antics from a bygone age. The Newport pipe band will blow away the cobwebs with their brassy bounce and the Second Battalion Royal Welsh Corps of Drums will beat out a contagious rhythm guaranteed to get the pulses racing.
And if you and the kids don't fancy any of the above, why not give the little ones a go on the children's quad bikes, trampolines, super-bikes, climbing wall, bouncy castle, or any of the other festivities guaranteed to keep fun-loving fanatics of all ages occupied.
As it is organised by the Richard Hunt Foundation, the Welsh Warrior Festival will naturally have a number of soldiers present on the day who will be only too keen to guide your through the specially prepared military assault course.
And if all that sounds like thirsty work guaranteed to rouse your appetite, then help is at hand with the many food stalls and fully-licensed bar that will be on the grounds during the day, for the full 12 hours.
