IN the face of the current cost of living crisis a group of local churches have joined forces to offer a warm space to anyone who might need it this winter.
Under the presidency of Lieutenant Jenni Pryor of Abergavenny Salvation Army Abergavenny Churches Together has been working as a group to co-ordinate a response to the ‘Warm Welcome Campaign’ (https://www.warmwelcome.uk/).
The Warm Welcome Campaign exists to support the community response to the cost-of-living crisis and, working with partners of all kinds, to equip thousands of organisations to provide a warm space to everyone who might need it this winter.
“Whilst many groups are helping to alleviate the cost-of-living crisis for people, we felt it was important for us as churches to work together as much as possible. We have therefore put together the attached poster, bringing together our various offers in one resource,” explained Jenni
The sessions listed are opportunities for people to find warmth, company, and refreshments free of charge and with no agenda. Many of the warm spaces listed are already up and running but the programme will be officially launched on Monday, December 5.
