POLICE are appealing for information after a number of cars were stolen from a secure vehicle compound in the Nevill Hall Hospital area of Abergavenny.

Police are appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of vehicles taken in the theft including a green Landrover Defender CP57 DHN, a silver Renault Megane Y357 ABC, a black Nissan Note WM07 GVW, a silver VW Passat WU03 OYA, a silver Ford Fiesta AU08 WZT, a black Fiat Panda CK58 HRL and a Skoda Octavia AD09 5XW.

It is believed there were at least three men involved in the thefts and its believed they travelled from the area of Nevill Hall Hospital, through Llanfoist and into Bleanavon where three vehicles that were also stolen - a Blue Ford Fiesta , a recovery lorry and a red Seat Cordoba - were recovered.

During the theft, the recovery lorry collided with a police vehicle on Union Road. Officers received only minor injuries in the collision.
