Last October Year 7 pupils were present to witness the opening of the 6th Form predictions which had been written in 1990 to be opened on the Millennium, and were thrilled to keep the project going by planting their own last week The Year 7 classes contributed evidence to place in the capsule, as well as pupils from KHS's feeder primary schools, past pupils and institutions connected to the school. Milly Roberts, a student from Goytre Fawr Primary School said, "I wrote a letter which talks about the President, politics, how much a 1st class stamp costs and the Royals today. I hope people will find this interesting." Milly's mother, Lisa Roberts, said, "I think this is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of history. We put items that are past and present in the time capsule for future generations to enjoy." Alex Betts from Year 7, shared that his form created a scrapbook entitled 'A Day in the Life of 7Q'. He said, "It will be interesting for others to find out what life was like for us." A Year 6 pupil from Llantilio Pertholey, Nara Baxter, put a poem into the capsule, and Elinor Carter-Evans put in a mobile phone. Elinor said, "It is something that everyone has and uses every day. I think it will be very interesting to come back when the time capsule is opened and see what we used in the past." The time capsule is being placed inside a stone plinth in the school quad to be opened on the 500th anniversary of the founding of KHS in 2042. Mr Grahame Nelmes, project organiser said, "This year has been one of great change with the retirement of our headmaster, the appointment of our first woman head in 472 years and the farewell to staff who have given a total of 299 years of service to the school. "We are reminded of our motto Ut Prosim –so that we may be of service. Unlike the 1990 predictions, hopefully this time someone will remember where the capsule is and open it in 2042. Equally, let us hope it gets moved if the school is rebuilt before then."
