BUSINESSES in the Abergavenny area are being invited to attend the launch of the newly founded Y-Fenni Business Community (YBC) which will be held on Tuesday, January 10 at the town’s Angel Hotel.

The brainchild of a group of team business owners, supported by Abergavenny Town Council, the group is open to every business in Abergavenny and Llanfoist and aims to bring the business community closer together.

“Our aims are quite simple - we just want to come together as a community and keep each other updated about what’s going on in our town and the surrounding areas,” explained Andrew Powell(pictured) landlord of the Grofield Inn and one of the driving forces behind the group.

“We want the group to be quite informal and to use social media like Facebook to keep in touch with what’s going on,” he explained.

“We’d like to think we could also work towards organising one major event each year along with a few smaller things held in the town,”?he added.

The Y-Fenni Business Community will be officially launched at next week’s meeting, which starts at 6pm in the Ballroom at The Angel.

“I hope a lot of people will call in to see what it’s all about,”?said Andrew.
