School students in Brynmawr were sent home on Wednesday morning after a power cut in the area, with the school taking to social media to confirm the news.

In just the second week of the new school year, students at Brynmawr Foundation School were told buses would collect them at 10am to return home while the school building was left without power.

Those who could walk home were allowed to, leaving some parents at a loss for how to ensure their children were cared for during the day.
