A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a road traffic collision in which a woman died.

The collision, which involved a red Volvo C70 and a black Kawasaki motorcycle, happened on the B4246 Abergavenny Road in Blaenavon at around 8.05pm on Saturday.

A woman passenger, travelling on the motorbike, was pronounced dead at the scene and the male rider taken to Nevill Hall where he was treated for minor injuries. He has since been released.

Gwent Police has confirmed that the driver of the Volvo, who is 46 years old and from Blaenavon, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
