AN exhibition of paintings from in and around Blaenavon is taking place in the town.

The paintings, by Louella Gwillim, have also been exhibited in St David's Hall in Cardiff. She didn't scoop Welsh Artist of the Year in 2007 as previously reported, the award went to Walter Keeler the Monmouth-based artist. His salt-glazed ceramic entry 'WI' which consists of a large tea pot and nine mugs, was singled out by the panel of judges as an "extraordinary achievement."

The exhibition of Blaenavon landscapes takes place at Browning Book, 33, Broad Street, upstairs from August 2 to 30, Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
