DO you fancy catching one of the latest Hollywood blockbusters in Abergavenny this Friday night?
Well now you can as the town's cinema has the popcorn ready, the film reel spinning and is ready to open its doors.
For years film fans in Abergavenny have dreamt and waited patiently for their own town cinema and tomorrow night (Friday) - the dream becomes a reality.
There will be five films to choose from, Iron Man 2 will be the first feature shown at 4.45pm. Also screening is Dear John, Clash of the Titans and on the weekend Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang and How to Train Your Dragon.
Owners Irene and Peter Davies (pictured) said they have now hired all the staff, all of whom are local to Abergavenny.
"We have had a great response to our advert in the Chronicle and we received around 300 applications.
"We would like to thank all the people who applied for the jobs and apologise for not being able to respond to them all individual.
"We really appreciated people taking the time to apply and were delighted that so many local people would have liked to work in the new cinema.
"We are sure that jobs will come available in the future and we would encourage people to apply again if not successful this time."
The cinema will be managed by Mr Christian Fletcher of Abergavenny who will be supported by another nine members of staff all who live locally.
"Peter and I and really looking forward to opening the doors for that first time on Friday," said Irene Davies.
"We will probably all be suffering for first night nerves, but hope it won't show too much! We are both really proud of the cinema we have created for Abergavenny.
"We look forward to welcoming everyone through the doors and hope an enjoyable time is had by all."
Although the cinema will be open for business from Friday, it will open officially with a performance of Sherlock Holmes with a specially invited audience on Monday, May 17.
