A BID will be put forward to improve Bailey Park further.
Members of Abergavenny Town Council agreed that the park could benefit from ground maintenance staff and more funding.
Councillor John Prosser suggested that as projects were being put forward to improve Bailey Park, it was important to look after the park on a day to day basis.
He said he understood that grounds maintenance staff from the County Council did litter pick three times-a-week during the week, but not at weekends.
He said he was also concerned that there are some public order issues in the park which would benefit from a warden.
Councillor Douglas Edwards noted that Bailey Park should be next on the list to apply for Heritage Lottery funding now that Monmouth Shire Hall was complete. He said members should make strong overtures to MCC to move that along as well as getting benefit from the sale of the Cattle Market site in Abergavenny.
The Clerk will write to MCC and Councillor Prosser's bid will be put forward for a project for next year.
