Time is running out for local businesses, organisations and talented individuals to register an interest for a space in the county’s corner at this year’s National Eisteddfod.
The Eisteddfod and Monmouthshire County Council seek local community groups, sports enthusiasts, chefs, artists, musicians, vineyard proprietors, brewing companies, craftspeople, designers, sculptors, make-up artists, theatre groups, comedians, entertainers and many more to demonstrate their talents in the heart of the area allocated to Monmouthshire. The closing date for applications is next Thursday (March 24).
Councillor Phil Hobson, cabinet member with responsibility for the Welsh language said, “It is so important for visitors to engage with local people who share their knowledge and love of our brilliant county. This is a fabulous opportunity to provide a taste of Monmouthshire – an chance to shine. More than 150,000 visitors are expected to visit the county during Eisteddfod week and when they find what Monmouthshire offers they will want to return.
“I would encourage anyone who’d like to get involved to submit an application and be part of this exciting opportunity.”
For an application form visit monmouthshire.gov.uk/eisteddfod or contact [email protected] After the closing date has passed, all applications will be assessed and a final programme will be created.
