ANOTHER convicted burglar has absconded from HMP Prescoed, the second in a week.
John Stephen Howlett, 30, failed to return to the open prison on Saturday, August 16. He was convicted of burglary in August 2007 and originates from the Swansea area.
He is described as 1.86m tall and of medium build, has an oval face, brown eyes and a fair complexion.
Gwent Police say he is not a sex offender and is not serving a life sentence but there be a potential risk to the public as he is no longer in the custody of the prison service.
Members of the public are advised not to approach John Howlett and to call Gwent Police on 01633 838111.
