HEARING his self-penned song getting an airing on a local radio station has been music to the ears of a Govilon shopkeeper who is now hoping it gets a place on the regular playlist.

Anil Govan, of Village Stores wrote the song, ‘I Was Made For You’ for a nephew’s wedding and was delighted to get it played recently on Sunshine Radio.

Anil, who recorded his song with the help of local musician, Rab Handleigh and Dave Wood of Broad Oak Studios, said, ‘It was my Dad who encouraged us all to learn music after he had seen the Rolling Stones in concert.

‘Music has always been a big part of my life, from playing the piano at the age of seven, mastering various instruments in the Boy’s Brigade and performing in a family pop group with my seven brothers and one sister.’

Anil is planning more writing and is currently making a video to release on You Tube in order to support the song. There is also an appearance on NHSound planned for the near future.
