AN AMBULANCE on a 999 call overturned on the Aberbaiden roundabout at Gilwern on Monday evening.

The Crickhowell ambulance was on its way to a call in the Blaenau Gwent area when it overturned. The Welsh Ambulance Service said that no patients were on board at the time and another ambulance was despatched to attend the call.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said the westbound carriageway was closed for 15 minutes while the vehicle was recovered.

The front seat passenger sustained minor neck and shoulder injuries.
