Local Assembly Member Nick Ramsay has again written to the Welsh Government Minister of Transport, Edwina Hart AM, calling for improvements to the poor road surface on the A4042 between Llanover and Pontypool.

“Residents have contacted me on a number of occasions to express their concern and are particularly fearful that motorcyclists are in danger because of the very poor road surface in a number of areas on this stretch of road,” he said.

“I have passed their concerns on to the Minister who says she is aware of the condition of the road and has five improvement schemes planned for various locations along this route, which will be considered for funding in 2016/2017.”

Mr Ramsay said he would continue to monitor the situation and hoped that at least some of these schemes would be approved in the not too distant future.
