TWENTY-four seniors from Alice Springs Golf Club recently took part in their annual Autumn golf tour when they travelled to West Wales.

They stayed at the Ivy Bush Hotel in Carmarthen and played rounds of golf at Glyn Abbey Golf Club for the first two days, and at Carmarthen Golf Club on the third day.

Both courses were in good condition and the weather was favourable.

A Stableford competition was held each day and the daily winners were: Day One - Dave Cobley (33 points). Day Two - Ralph Herron (34 points). Day Three - Keith Lewis (37 points, winning on countback from Barrie Turner, who also had 37 points.)

In addition there were also daily nearest the pin competitions.

At the end of the three days the Seniors' Tour Cup was awarded to the golfer with the highest points total. This year's winner, with a total of 93 points was Ralph Herron. Second was Barrie Turner with 90 points. Joint third were Dave Cobley and Colin Elliott with 89 points. Fifth was Alphonso Cortes-Lage with 87 points and sixth was Keith Lewis with 86 points.

The tour organiser Mike Thomas has organised the annual outing for the last six years and has decided to step down after this tour.

The Seniors' captain Ed Pillinger thanked Mike for his hard work and superb orginisation during those years, and these thanks were endorsed by the whole group.
