ance Blast Abergavenny is to host a unique performance by Jan Blake, one of Europe’s finest storytellers (Saturday December 12, 7.30pm).

Jan has been performing worldwide for over 25 years. Specialising in stories from Africa and the Caribbean, she has a well-earned reputation for dynamic and thrilling storytelling. Recent highlights include Hay Festival, where she was storyteller in-residence,

As well as performing at all the major storytelling festivals both nationally and internationally, she works regularly with the British Council, leads storytelling workshops for emerging storytellers, and gives masterclasses for teachers, brands and businesses. She also regularly captivates school children with mesmerising tales.

Popular local storyteller Daniel Morden has organised the event in conjunction with Dance Blast.

“I can’t wait!” he said. “Jan is one of my favourite storytellers. I have enjoyed her work for more than two decades. She is magical, funny and big-hearted. I honestly can’t think of a better way to spend a winter’s evening than listening to her.”
