DOROTHY Gertrude Evans, the Abergavenny pensioner dubbed 'the original neighbour from hell' has died at the age of 85.

Mrs Evans, who lived in Park Crescent became the oldest woman in Britain to receive an Anti Social Behaviour Order in 2005 and in 2007 received a six month jail sentence for its breach.

In the wake of publicity surrounding the case Mrs Evans appeared frequently on television news and in national newspapers which followed her case with interest and she became known as 'Abergavenny's ASBO pensioner'.

She last appeared in court last year when she was charged with further breaches of her anti social behaviour order. The case against her was adjourned when the court heard that she might not be fit to stand trial.

Mrs Evans was understood to be a widow and leaves a daughter Barbara Thomas who lives in Abergavenny.
