Keith Davies is the king of charity fund-raising in Abergavenny. He has raised £258,000 in the past 11 years with his concerts and the latest in December raised £3,400 which he divided among 14 deserving causes.

The cheques were presented at a special event at The Angel Hotel last Friday, hosted by the mayor of Abergavenny, Councillor Maureen Powell who praised Abergavenny’s own Elvis Presley for his big-hearted gesture.

Keith, the current president of Abergavenny Rotary Club, in turn praised the volunteers who run the local charities which he supported. He said he stages concerts in the Borough Theatre every May and December, plus three gospel concerts and said he was delighted to be asked to take part in a special event in the grounds of Abergavenny Castle in July to mark the National Eisteddfod coming to the town in August.
