Abergavenny Food Festival has been voted by you as the Best Event in Wales in the 2016 People’s Choice Awards.

The food festival received the most votes in its category to take top spot.

Abergavenny Food Festival which it has been said has transformed the town into a ‘Mecca for foodies’ brings together some of the best names in the culinary world to present talks and give demonstrations alongside stalls selling everything from craft beer to seafood, meat to pastries.

Creative director of the festival Vicki Spencer-Francis said was delighted with the win. She said,”We rallied our troops, our fantastic suppliers and our wonderful chefs and encouraged our fans to vote for us and they did!

“Because our supporters took the time to vote for us in the Wales Online People’s Choice Awards, we took home the gold medal and are now officially Wales’ Best Event!

“We want to thank everyone who voted for their unwavering love and support. We are extremely grateful and could not have done it without them.

“Our prize is some marketing help for this years’ Festival and we are delighted; now we can spread the word far and wide and welcome even more people through the doors of Abergavenny.
