WELL-loved local busker Jim Ramsey sung his heart our for a dear friend on the streets of Abergavenny on the weekend when he raised an incredible £370 for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation (JDRF).
Earlier this month, Cross Ash seven-year-old Annabel Kelynack, who has type one diabetes, suffered a life threatening seizure. Her glucose levels had dipped to a dangerously low level. Her distraught mother Kate Kelynack preformed emergency resuscitation as they waited for the ambulance.
Little Annabel was rushed to hospital, her condition stabilized and she is now thankfully ok.
Kate told the Chronicle, “It was a terrible scare but the emergency service and the staff at the hospital were superb.
“Jim is a friend of the family and is every fond of Annabel, and kindly offered to donate all his takings from busking on Saturday to JDRF. He’s very keen to raise awareness of the charity and what living with type one diabetes can entail.”
On the day, Jim was joined by Annabel and her nine-year-old sister Jessica. The busker was also joined by his nine-year-old son Tiger Ramsey, who following in his father’s footsteps, also has a talent for a tune.
He accompanied his dad on the Cajon as they serenaded the streets of Abergavenny for a very worthwhile cause.
