WITH Abba being more popular than it ever has been thanks to the film Mamma Mia, many locals dusted off their flares as an Abba tribute band came to Llanfoist Village Hall last week.

Over 100 people arrived at the village hall in 1970s and Abba-themed fancy dress to sing along and dance to tunes including Dancing Queen, Money Money Money and Take A Chance On Me.

Organised by Greg Shearman of Llanfoist Villagers Association the event raised over £500. Greg said, "Everyone had really good fun, loads of us were in fancy dress dress and I'm still recovering now."

The Llanfoist Villagers Association hold a cabaret night every month at the village hall, the next one being a Tom Jones and Neil Diamond night on April 4. Tickets are available from Llanfoist Post Office costing £10 including a buffet.
