UPDATE: The carriageway is now open although further delays may be expected as the traffic clears

AN accident has closed the westbound carriageway of the Heads of the Valleys Road at Gilwern this morning.

The road’s eastbound carriageway remains open but with delays due to traffic diverting and using the roundabout.

Road developers Costain will let drivers know when the road is due to reopen fully in the meanwhile some delays are to be expected.
