The A465 Heads of the Valley between Brynmawr and Glanbaiden will be closed to traffic from 10pm on Friday April 15 until 6am on Monday, April 18 as part of the on-going road widening project.

The closure, which was postponed from last weekend, is mainly required for rock excavation but it will also enable the workforce to undertake a number of vital construction activities such as repairs to safety netting, demolition works and earthworks movements. 

During the course of the closure full access will be maintained through the site for emergency services vehicles, which will be escorted by Costain’s traffic management team.

The company also intends to maintain controlled access during the closure at the Saleyard and Gilwern junctions.
