Crickhowell RFC - 10

Blackwood Stars - 24

ALTHOUGH ultimately losing their game against Division Six East leaders Blackwood Stars, Crickhowell did well to hold their own in a match that served as a showcase for quality rugby.

Ultimately, the sideline flattered the visitors somewhat, but they just about deserved their win.

One try with Blackwood supporters interfering on the pitch should clearly have been disallowed, but the indiscretion went unnoticed by the referee and the try stood.

Man of the match James Ralph scored the Crickhowell try with a Mazy run from fifty metres, after bamboozling defenders to score between the posts.

Adam Howells converted and also added a penalty goal, but two further converted tries for Blackwood Stars sealed their win.

In the final analysis credit must go to Crickhowell who stood toe to toe with the opposition, and with a better rub of the green - who knows?
