Businesses in Gwent are being urged to sign up to the Police Cyber Alarm scheme to help protect their networks from cyber-attacks.

The scheme is government funded and offers near real-time monitoring of cyber threats, providing businesses with regular reports that highlight any vulnerabilities within the organisation.

It will also help the police to identify national trends in cyber-crime across the UK.

Crucially, no user data or personal information from the business is collected and the alarm is fully GDPR compliant.

Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Jeff Cuthbert, said: “Cyber criminals are evolving and businesses must ensure that they stay up to date with the latest safety information and advice.

“The Police Cyber Alarm is an extremely useful tool in the battle against cyber-crime and I would urge businesses in Gwent to sign up and protect themselves against this growing threat.”
