POLICE have released a CCTV image of two men in connection with an investigation into an alleged town centre sex assault on a 17-year-old girl.

Detectives say the men were pictured in Brynmawr’s Talisman Pub near the scene of the alleged attack that evening, Sunday, August 22.

Gwent Police are keen to talk to the pair as they might be able to help with their enquiries.

Officers say the teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Bailey Street around 9.30pm.

The victim described her attacker as a bearded white man, about 5ft 9 tall, in his late 20s, and of a large build.

A force spokesperson said: "We are investigating a sexual assault that happened on Bailey Street in Brynmawr.

"A 17-year old girl was assaulted by a man at about 9.30pm on August 22.

"We’d like to speak to two men who were in the Talisman pub nearby that evening, as they may be able to help us with our enquiries."

Although the CCTV image “isn’t very clear", they hoped it “may jog someone’s memory who was there on the night".
