Police officers battered down the door of an Abergavenny cannabis farm, finding thousands of pounds worth of the drug growing inside.

The amateur ‘grow’, rigged up to hydroponic lights, was discovered at an address on Rother Avenue, Abergavenny, after a midday raid by Gwent Police on Monday.

Officers found six large cannabis plants — ready for consumption — and several smaller ones.

Police said a 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and later received a caution.
