A nine year old boy has been injured in a collision on a pelican crossing in Talywain.

Gwent Police is appealing for witnesses following a report of a road traffic collision at around 1.45pm in Commercial Road, Talywain on Tuesday 28 July.

The collision involved a nine-year-old boy, using the pelican crossing and a black vehicle which reportedly left the scene of the accident.

The nine-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers investigating the collision are appealing for anyone with information to contact us quoting log reference 2600244173.

“We’re asking for residents and motorists who were travelling along Commercial Road between 1pm and 2pm on Tuesday 28 July to check their CCTV or dashcam footage,” said a police spokesman.
