People in Usk have been warned following reports of a fake solar panel ‘salesman’ going door-to-door in the town.

The alert has been issued by Monmouthshire Housing Association, who say they have contacted Gwent Police as they believe the man to be a rogue trader.

“A man alleging he works for a company called ‘Grid Fuse’ has been knocking on doors in Usk to try and get people to hand over £1500, in exchange for erecting solar panels,” a spokesperson for MHA said.

“Please be vigilant and always ask for ID. If you are unsure, close your door and contact their Customer Service Team on 0345 677 2277. Failing that, call the local Police.”
