A team from Longtown Mountain Rescue was called out on Tuesday afternoon by Gwent Police to help rescue an injured man on Sugar Loaf.

“The gentleman, in his forties, had fallen from his mobility scooter,” said a spokesman for the mountain rescue team.

“He was treated on the scene then carried by stretcher down to the the team 4x4 and driven to Nevill Hall Hospital.

“Team members then worked together to recover his damaged mobility scooter.”
