A 66-year-old man has been found dead after entering the water at Llanfoist Bridge, Abergavenny this morning.

Police and emergency rescue crews attended the scene at around 9am following a report of a missing person believed to be from the man’s wife this morning.

Rescue teams from Abergavenny and Ebbw Vale joined police and ambulance personnel on Llanfoist bridge whilst a 12-strong team entered the water about 800m downstream in an attempt to rescue the man.
