RAGLAN Parc golf club celebrated the closing stages of last year with two special occasions, the club presentation night, and the senior men's section presentation and dinner dance.
Both events were well attended and much enjoyed, even by those who were not prize winners.
A major winner was the club's chosen charity, Help for Heroes. The club and ladies Captains, Tom Rigby and Eirlys French, kicked off proceedings by presenting the charity representative, Diana McCrea, with a cheque for £ 2,340
This year has proved particularly rewarding for the club, as members in various sections, and each generation, have gained successes in national and regional competitions.
Teams from the senior men's section won the South Wales Seniors Classic Bowl, and the Woodlake Park Challenge Trophy, which the Club will host next year.
Graeme Fletcher won the Wales Individual Handicap Championship, held this year at Llandrindod Wells.
Youth was also represented, as Alys Thomas won the Monmouthshire Girls Under 12 Championship, and the South Wales Girls Under 18 Net prize.
These achievements crowned a great year, and it is hoped that they will prove inspirational for the future.
