ABERGAVENNY Ladies Netball Club welcomed the Town Mayor and former Abergavenny player and coach Tess Davies to their training session last week to unveil their brand new kit.

The new kit was sponsored by Simon Aspley of AWS limited and Andrew Morgan of Morgan’s of Usk Steel Frame Buildings.

James Cole of True Point Surveys and Amanda Leaker of The park Dressage Horses also provided sponsorship for new match balls.

The club begin the new season with a promotion for the ‘A’ team into the Premier Division of the South East Wales Netball League. The ‘B’ team will continue in the Second Division.

The club also have a team in the Wye Valley league and a development squad in the league. ‘A’ team player Falesha Lewis, 18, also gained a spot in the Wales under 21s long squad.

The club’s vice chairman Esther Williams said, “We are extremely lucky to have former Welsh player and Wales U18’s and Wales senior coach, Anne Wildin, coaching us for the coming season. We look forward to having her with us.”

The ladies took part in off season training this summer run by local personal trainer Gareth Lavington . Gareth will continue training during the netball season.

Ladies training is every Thursday, 7:30-9:30pm. For more info please email [email protected].

All training takes place at Abergavenny Leisure centre. All abilities are welcome.
