ABERGAVENNY based speedster Leon Window roared to a full throttle victory at Brands Hatch when he bagged first place in the Mini SE7EN Dunlop ‘0’ Cup.
The managing director of Select Security battled the treacherous elements to secure a second and first place finish in the first two races.
It all came own to the wire on the the last race, but Window plucked a victory from the jaws of defeat as he narrowly beat Duncan Emmett into second place by a tenth of a second to win the three race event.
The Dunlop ‘0’ Cup is a popular winter event, with the winner also earning the right to use the prestigious number ‘zero’ on their car for the following season.
A jubilant Window explained, “Having won the Novice Championship last season, I knew that this year would be tough. I am thrilled to have won the Dunlop ‘0’ Cup and reward the guys at SMG Motorsport who have put so much time and effort into developing the car.
“As the driver who has scored the most point at Brands Hatch this year, I have also been fortunate enough to win The Sevenoaks Cup. None of this would have been possible without the support of our fantastic sponsors, including Henry Howard Finance of Newport, Klein Tools of Torfaen, Standard Signs of Newport, Select Security and Infinite Security.”
