LLANTILIO Pertholey Primary School had a visit from former Welsh international Gareth Thomas to end their term with a bang last Friday. Alfie put the youngsters and retiring Head-teacher Mr Evans through their paces on the school's playing field in a session where no quarter was given or asked. Thomas gave the children a master-class in tag rugby whilst confiding in them some tricks of the trade that only a man who's pulled on the red jersey as many times as Gareth had would know. All of the pupils were keen to get involved, and said it was a great way to spend their last day in school before the summer break. Teachers at the school were thrilled that Gareth took the time to come down, and thanked him for his hard work. They also congratulated the children for their effort on the day.
