ON a beautiful sunny day, 72 members of Raglan Parc Golf Club turned up to raise funds for a new children’s life support machine for Nevill Hall Hospital.

The standard of play matched that of the weather – wonderful. Thirteen competitors returned a Stableford score of 40 and above, and a great day out was rewarded with the news that almost £800 had been raised on the day.

The winner was Leighton Williams, who beat Les Murray on count back, each scoring 43 points.

The next event organised for this year’s fundraiser is a Country and Western night in September. So keen are members to don cowboy gear – and there are a few bandits among them – that tickets sold out almost as soon as the notice was posted.
