ABERGAVENNY Town FC’s recent run of six consecutive league victories earned them the Nathaniel Cars Welsh Football League Club of the month award for October, with manager Ben Bannon also picking up the manager of the month award.

Manager Bannon, together with assistant Phil Hemmings will receive the two awards at the Holiday Inn, Cardiff on November 12.

Club Treasurer Dave O’Malley, together with clubman Richard Brown are also at Cardiff City Stadium on November 16, prior to the Wales v Denmark game, to pick up the FAW Fair Play award.

Club chairman Rob Francis said, “For the Club to come out on top of all 48 clubs spread across the three divisions of the Welsh League, and to receive three awards in such a short space of time is almost unprecedented. It is a great testimony to all those at Pen-y-Pound Stadium who work so hard both off and on the pitch. Ben has achieved so much so early in his managerial career.”

Abergavenny Town Women will also be at the Cardiff City Stadium ceremony for picking up the FAW Fair Play award in the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League.

Town, who are riding high in second place in Division Two of the Nathaniel Cars Welsh Football League are currently seeking a main club sponsor. Interested parties should contact Club Treasurer Dave O’Malley on 07721 626068.
