Llandudno Ladies - 4
Abergavenny Women - 2
HOPING to finish the season on a high, Abergavenny Women travelled up North on Saturday, knowing one point against the ladies from Llandudno would secure them a third-place finish.
However, a poor first half performance and a catalogue of missed chances saw the hopeful visitors go 3-0 down before the break.
The second-half saw them wake from their slumbers and take the game to their opponents, but pushing on in pursuit of goals left them vulnerable at the back and they went four down with 30 minutes remaining.
Top scorer Lyndsey Davies netted twice to give them hope, but a win wasn’t to be and Aber had to settle for a fourth place finish.
In the post-match changing room it was evident that the long hard season had taken it’s toll on several players.
Yet despite the disappointment on the final day the team can be proud of a fine first season in Abergavenny which saw them reach the Welsh Cup quarter-final, the League Cup final and secure a top four finish in the Premier League.
