A SPECIAL Open Evening with an Abergavenny connection will take place in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket later this month.

The free-of-charge evening will be held on Thursday March 19 from 7pm onwards. It is the final event in the popular series of winter functions held in the Museum at Glamorgan Cricket’s Sophia Gardens headquarters.

Thanks to the family and friends of Malcolm Nash, as well as Abergavenny Cricket Club, a selection of Nash’s personal memorabilia has been loaned to the Museum for the forthcoming season and the first selection of material relating to the late player’s illustrious county career is now on display.

Members of Nash’s family, including his daughter Amba, and members of Abergavenny CC will be present at the Open Evening which will include a short tribute and film about Nash’s days with Glamorgan and his outstanding career.

The evening will also include a short film about the county and international cricketers to have played for Abergavenny CC as well as showcasing the new Museum of Welsh Cricket website, which includes a range of information about cricket clubs throughout Wales, and a range of archive images from long-established clubs such as Abergavenny CC
