Abergavenny Town Girls Under 13’s winning streak abandoned then on the weekend as they suffered a tough 2-1 loss away to Barry.
Barry got off to a good start with the Aber Girls conceding an early goal from a sloppy corner. At half-time with Barry in the lead the Aber Girls came out firing, with a great goal scored by Sophie Engel drawing the game level. After some questionable free kicks awarded against the girls, Barry took the lead, and although Aber created numerous chances in the end, Barry held on for the win.
Attackers Eleri Jones, Ruby Gould, Macey McCann, Carys Pond and Meg Welford all played their part in a tough match.
Midfielders Bella Wilce, Chelleter Graham-Sawyers, Mia Sherrard and Sophie Engel battled hard in a good midfield battle.
Defenders Bobbi Allcock, Brooke Davies and Cristyn Powell defended solidly throughout.
Gracie Grosvenor slotted in between the sticks with an excellent display.
Next up Coed Eva at home on Sunday.
