Abergavenny Town Girls FC Under 15’s had an amazing game on Sunday, writes Liam Dobbs.
Their first match of the new year came with a victory over Caerleon Junior Youth FC Girls Under 15’s and ensured Abergavenny Town Girls FC Under 15’s remain top of the table with just two games left to play.
It was an outstanding team effort with lots of encouraging play and pure grit and determination ending with a score of 4-0.
The goals were scored by our midfielder Millie (2) and our striker Libby (2) and assists by our winger Cerys, our captain Amber and Libby also added to the list.
Each goal was outstanding, well deserved and every player in the team played a huge part in every goal!
Our defence were an outstanding force in keeping any counter-attack under control and put everything on the line to ensure we came away with three points and a clean sheet, not to mention some amazing saves from our keeper Alannah!
Our Girl(s) of the Match award went to our winger Cerys and midfielder Tabitha.
An outstanding performance from both players! They were creative on the ball and always looking around to see other options around the field.
They were both able to create chances further up the field by playing some amazing passes through.
Their knowledge of the game is exceptional and it is a pleasure to have them both in our team!
Well done to the both of you! All around, an outstanding effort so a massive well done from all of the coaches!
Our captain Amber and Vice-Captain Millie are amazing leaders on the pitch and always encourage the rest of the team so a massive thank you and well done goes out to them and the rest of the team from us all!
Us coaches at Abergavenny Town Girls FC are so happy with how well the team have gelled and the chemistry between them all.
There’s not a single player out of place, we are very proud of all of our players.
