Abergavenny Town Girls FC Under 13s increased their lead at the top of SWWGL Division one with a toughly fought battle away against second place Newport Civil Service.

The girls had to dig deep and grind out a valuable 1-0 victory with Ruby Gould scoring the winner.

It was always going to be a tough match, but the team controlled the game and their goal rarely looked under threat.

Gracie Grosvenor stepped in between the posts with a composed displayed, backed up by defenders Bobbi Allcock, Brooke Davies and Cristyn Powell. Midfielders Sophie Engel, Chelleter Graham-Sawyers, Mia Sherrard and Bella Wilce won the midfield battle which in turn allowed Attackers Eleri Jones, Ruby Gould, Macey McCann, Meg Welford, Isabella Rudge and Carys Pond to attack the opposition goal.

Next up the girls are home to Llanyrafon.
