Abergavenny Squash Club’s ‘C’ team lost to their rival, Monmouth ‘B’, by four matches to one. Only Mitchell Lawrence was able to register a victory in a competitive match. The team remain at the top of the table, but Monmouth have played one game less, and are breathing down their necks.

The ‘E’ team were very convincing in their win by four matches to one against Monmouth ‘D’. Mark Nicholls and the Davies family had comfortable victories, with Rhys Pritchard just easing past the Monmouth captain. The team remain in third place.

The ‘C’ team lost another tight match by 3-2 to the league leaders. Both Simon Cave and Lee Nightingall had good victories, and the game went to the wire, with Chris Owen just being pipped at the post in the fifth set. The team remain in second place.

The ‘B’ team had its worst ever result against Barry Leisure, losing 5-0 and not gaining a single point. The team is now rooted at the bottom of the table. Enough said!

On the same night, the ‘A’ team came back down to earth after their good victory last week, losing by four matches to one to a very strong St Mellons side. Only Steve Williams was able to secure a win. The team drop to fifth in the table.
